I am truly honored to receive Honorable Mention awards for three of my images in the recently announced 2017 International Photographer of the Year Awards! The organization that runs the awards is based out of London, England and announced the winners February 18th, 2018. I received two Honorable Mention awards in the Fine Art:Landscape Category (Road to Nowhere and Eternity) and one Honorable Mention award in the Fine Art:Abstract Category (Fluorescent Fractals).

International Photographer of the Year Honorable Mention!

Badge-IPOTY-2016.jpg

I am extremely honored to belatedly learn (my own stupidity!) of two images of mine receiving Honorable Mention in the 2016 International Photographer of the Year competition! Nautilus was named in the Fine Art: Macro category and Sails in the Dunes in the Fine Art: Landscape category. This is an international competition that had over 3,000 entries worldwide so I am truly proud of and humbled by these awards.

Two Images to be in Conroe TX Gallery in March, 2018

My images Prairie Waves and Road to Nowhere have been selected by juror Peter Andrew for display at the 3rd Annual Conroe Art League National Invitational Show at The Gallery at the Madeley Building in Conroe,Texas. Truly honored as this is a competitive show and the venue, an historic builidng in downtown Conroe (near Houston) is a spectacular venue. The show will be March 7-32, 2018.

Break Time at Representing the West Exhibit

Very honored to again have an image selected for the national competitive show Representing the West: A New Frontier at the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Art Center in Pueblo, Colorado. Break Time will be on display from February 2 - May 6 of 2018. They received 550 entrants and juror Melanie Yazzie, art professor at University of Colorado, selected only 50 so I feel very fortunate to be showing. It's a lovely gallery and they do a nice job of displaying the works. Their website is https://www.sdc-arts.org/.

Morning Vista at Curtis Art Center

My image, Morning Vista, has been selected for the 34th Annual All-Colorado Art Show at the Curtis Center for the Arts in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The show runs through December 23rd and features some excellent artists such as Wendi Schneider whose peice hangs next to mine.

Four Images in Estes Park Show!

I am honored to have FOUR images selected by the juror of the Lines into Shapes show in Estes Park (CO). The exhibit will run from October 28 through November 11 at the Fine Art Center Gallery of Estes Park.

Invited to Real People Again!

I am so pleased to announce I have had an image selected for the national Real People art show to be held in Woodstock, Illinois in August and September. This is the 2nd year in a row I have made the show! The image is Break Time, a gritty photo of a gun-toting woman who is the only resident of a ghost town in Utah.

Littleton Art Depot Show

Honored to have have two of my images, A Bird’s Dream and The Road Less Traveled, selected for the Littleton Art Depot 34th Annual All-Colorado show that will run from August 1-August 27.

Utah Workshop Images

I attended a great workshop put on by Dan Ballard (www.danballardphotography.com) last week in Utah. We explored some truly off-the-beaten-path places near Moab. Some of my images are in the Landscape-Variety gallery and some int eh Americana-Rural gallery. Great trip and I highly recommend Dan.

Colorado Visions 2017 Show

Very honored to have three of my images selected for the North Metro Arts Alliance annual show called Colorado Visions 2017 this year. They selected A Bird's Dream, The Road Less Traveled, and Steam at the Springs. The show will run from April 10 through May 25 at the Westminster City Hall, 4800 W. 92nd Ave. in Westminster, Colorado.

Two images at 311 Gallery in Raleigh

I was recently notified that the 311 Gallery in Raleigh, North Carolina has selected two of my images for its Abstracts Mattter Juried Show. I'm especially pleased because neither image had been in an exhibit yet. I took Main Street, Anderson, Texas just last month in rural Texas and Blizzard Disorientation is a re-processing of a photo from last year.

"Steam at the Springs" awarded Honorable Mention

My image Steam at the Springs was awarded Honorable Mention at the Conroe (TX) Art League Show last week. It was only one of two photographs to win an award in this multi-media show. The image was a pure luck shot that I saw when I was delayed traveling home by a blizzard near Pagosa Springs, COlorado. The next morning was about zero so the steam was rising. I did almost no touch-up to the shot.

Representing the West: A New Frontier

I am again truly honored to be exhibited at the beautiful Sangre de Cristo Art Center in Pueblo, Colorado for their Representing the West: A New Frontier show. They selected two of my images, Littleton Depot and Barracks #2 for the exhibit. This is a national, multi-medium juried show that will run from January 28th through March 19th. From their website, "both non-traditional subject matter, materials and concepts and traditional depictions of the West will be on dispaly, including audio and video pieces.
